Coffee and Conversation
Parents of children receiving services in West Hartford are invited to join us for a coffee and conversation at Panera Bread, Bishops Corner, the First Friday of each month. Come share experiences and resources with other parents. Please contact Mary Hardy to get more information. EMAIL

ADHD Support
Meets the second Thursday evening of each month at Duffy School in the cafeteria.The first meeting is September 24th at 7:30. Call Deb Gabinelle at 561-5016 for more information.

Sibling Support Group
This support group is for children ages 10-12 who have a brother or sister with special needs. The group is conducted at Jewish Family Services (JFS), 333 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford. For more information call 236-1927.

TEEN TIME - two FREE events for teens co-sponsored by the West Hartford Special Needs Program and the Metropolitan District Commission.

When: April 24th and June 5th (Fridays)
Where: Elmwood Community Center
Time: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Ages: 13 to 19 AND students enrolled in the West Hartford WAAVE Program

Two nights of food and fun are planned at the Elmwood Community Center thanks to the generosity of the Metropolitan District Commission. Staff from the Special Needs Program will serve grinders, chips, cold beverages, and dessert to the teenaged guests and provide general supervision. Friends needing more assistance to participate may bring a family member or assistant to join in the fun. The night will be filled with teens’ favorite activities – Nintendo Wii, karaoke, group games, crafts and more! REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for the FREE EVENTS.
